Slurry seal is an asphalt mixture applied to existing pavement to increase the durability and lifespan of the street. This work is done in and around Springfield.
Starting in June, Lane County and City of Springfield road maintenance crews will begin crack sealing streets to prepare them for slurry seal. "No Parking" signs will be posted during crack seal operations.
In early July, a contractor will begin the slurry seal application. The project is expected to be completed by October 1, 2025.
"No Parking" signs & door hangers will be posted a minimum of two days in advance of slurry seal road closures so residents can make other arrangements. A tentative work schedule will be available on this webpage in early July.
The new asphalt must cure for 6 to 8 hours before residents can drive or park on the repaired streets.
Vehicles remaining on the street the day of slurry seal may be towed at the owners expense.
